360 VR Trailer
Background
The film takes place in Hamburg and the dilemma surrounding Mohammed is intended to draw attention to the political debate surrounding the treatment of refugees, their fate and hurdles. Nevertheless, “Mohammed” is a fictional story. In reality Germany does not deport refugees to Syria because of the increased security risk, but to Afghanistan and the discussion about a deportation to Syria is still propagated by some politicians.
Nonlinear Story
It is up to the viewer in wich direction the story goes. The basic question of the story is whether Mohammed should be deported to Syria or should serve his remaining three years in prison. No matter what decision the viewer make in the beginning, the rest of the commission will have a different opinion and the goal is to convince them all. Arguments have been prepared for both strands which can lead to 18 different ends through a non-linear system.
Immersive Experience
Through a VR headset of choice, the user gets immersed into the experience and can interact by simply viewing at the choices of arguments. The user goes beyond being just a spectator by becoming a mayor part of the story and is put into an uncomfortable decision making situation. In addition to that ambisonic audio is integrated for better spatial sound and a more realistic experience.

After finishing the main story through the VR Headset. The side story will be unlocked and the viewer sees Mohammed as a person for the first time and the events before he committed the grievous bodily injury. It’s intended that Mohammed is not seen beforehand because the viewer himself has to imagine a picture of a “Mohammed”.
